KLAMATH WEED

Hypericum Perforatum

This plant must be harvested at blooming time and should be dried  in a sunny and airy place at 35ºC. It has tanning material, flavonoid, hypericin, glycosides and other materials. This plant has a pain killing and gall bladder stimulating properties. Because of it’s sedative effects;  it’s used in  chronic gastric , liver, gall bladder and kidney problems and on gynaecology patients. It strengthens the heart and liver, cleans up the kidneys, heals the wounds. As a tea; 1 teaspoon of plant and ¼  litre water prepared either by boiling or just making them wait for a while and it should be drunk in the daytime. In order to  extract the oil of the Klamath weed (plant must be flowered) should be sink in olive oil and left to Sun light in a bottle for 14 days and must be shaken from time to time. This oil used on burnings, sunburns and haemorrhoids. Excessive use cause allergy on sensitive skins. This oil has a dark red colour. The petals and little leaves also has large amount of adipose tissue. When it is visualised under the Sun light it looks like there are wholes. The red colour comes from carotene (Vit. A) that found in and dissolve in fat. Because of the hormonal effect of the fat, it brings a success on climacteric problems of women and men. It regulates periods of women. The oil normalizes the acid balance in stomach. Stimulates  the gall bladder. Regulates stomach- intestine fermentation.
