THYME HERB

Thymus serpyllum

On sunny and beautiful weathers, at the time of blooming , the upper part of plant should be  picked up by cutting or breaking. It is dried in a heat up to 35º C in shaded places. The HERB is protected in closed boxes separated from other herbs. Includes approximately 0.6 %  thymol, carvacrol and also etherised oil, bitter substance, tanning material and minerals. Thymol is a powerful antiseptic. It is used as toothpaste or as various powders. The extract of the plant used as drops against whooping-cough. It is used in flu, respiratory tract disorders, stomach and intestine problems. Bath of thyme herb strengthens the nervous system. It is useful in healing of  pussy and  malignant wounds. Etherised oil is  derived from plant by dilatation. This oil is very beneficial remedy for bronchitis. Used  for flu and coughing and used as massage material. It is said that; thyme odour is very refreshing for brain. Blooming time is May-September and  harvesting time of this plant is June-August season. The new  shoots with flowers and leaves are used against cramps, colic (severe pains sourced from gall bladder and kidneys). Also it’s used externally in therapeutic bath, as herb pillow???, and bandages.  The plant includes etherised oil (oleumthymi). While having effects on skin; it is also used  in rheumatism,  paralysis and cramps. As a tea; one teaspoon of herb should be  stepped  with a bowl of water and drunk 2 hot bowls everyday.
